We live in a world where body image is put on a pedestal. Unfortunately, this has led some people to develop eating disorders in order to maintain or achieve a certain body type. This week we will discuss the topic of eating disorders with Edmonton counsellor Beth Murray. She will share some preventative ideas regarding this sensitive issue and will discuss how to appropriately support a child or loved one struggling with an eating disorder.
Plus, we’ll have a helpful book to give away called Comfortable in Your Own Skin by Deborah Newman. She has seen the hatred women can feel toward their own bodies. As a Christian therapist, she has helped countless women learn to love and accept themselves as God intended. Join is this week for an informative discussion.

This week we will discuss the issue of modesty in teens. Our teenagers face a lot of pressure to look a certain way based on what they see portrayed in media and from their friends. How can we encourage them to dress and act in a way that is appropriate and God honouring without feeling like we are trying to overly control them?

Teen expert Mark Gregston will join us again to help walk us through this issue. We’ll discuss what modesty really means and offer some tips on how to proactively teach the concept of modesty to our teens before it becomes an issue.
